Chris Jung, Prominent 79-year-old retired farmer, died at 7:40 a.m. today at his
Mascoutah, after a lingering illiness. He had operated a farm in
Engelmann townahip until 1919 when he retired and lived in Mascoutah since then.
Born Feb. 2, 1861, in Engelmann township, he was a son of Joseph
and Mary Noldt Jung. Preceding in death was his wife, Mrs. Mary Zoeller Jung, whom he married at Fayetteville on June 1, 1886, and who died July 2, 1931.
Jung leaves four sons and a daughter, William Jung. of, Mascoutah; Joseph Jung, of Belleville; Theckla, wife of Ben Vogt, of St.Louis; Theodore Jung, of Mascoutah, and Edward Jung, of St-Louis. Another daughter, Mrs. Mary Huilling, died Aug 30, 1938. There are 22 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Five brothers and two sisters survive, Henry Jung, of Mascoutah;
George Jung, of Flint, Mich., Peter Jung, of Belleville; Leonard Jung, of Freeburg; Joseph Jung, of St.Libory; Miss. Dena Jung and Mrs. Dora Zoeller; both pf Mascoutah.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Monday at the Holy Childhood Catholic Church at Mascoutah. Rev. Fredmand Weyrich will officiate.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Moll funeral home, until 8:45 a.a. Monday.
