| Date: June 5, 1912 Paper: Belleville News Democrat Joseph Jung, Sr. Joseph Jung, Sr. a very prominent resident of the county, died at his home, in Mascoutah, on Wednesday, at the age 76. He was born in Lorraine, France, November 29, 1835, and came to America in 1843. He was married to Miss Mary Noldt in 1860. They lived on a farm until about six years ago, when they moved to Mascoutah. Sixteen children were born to the union - eight girls and eight boys. Of these, six boys and two girls are living, besides his wife. The children are Christ, Henry, Peter, Leonard and Joseph Jung, Jr., in Engelmann township: George Jung, in Belleville; and Miss Dina Jung, at home. He also leaves his sisters; Mrs. Felix Zinck, in New Baden; and brothers, Christ Jung, Sr., in Mascoutah, and Anton Jung, in Murphysboro. Thirty-one grandchildren also mourn his loss. The funeral will be at 10 o'clock Friday Morning to the Catholic Church at Mascoutah, thence to the Catholic Cemetery. |
